ELECTRIFICATION OF HEALTH CENTERS

PRESS CONFERENCE FOLLOWING THE ELECTRIFICATION OF HEALTH CENTERS IN THE NORTH OF THE COUNTRY BY THE SHEKINA ASSOCIATION AND THE NEXANS FOUNDATION

Nexans Ivory Coast received on its site of the new industrial zone Yopougon PK 24, on Friday, April 28th, 2023, journalists and some media guests to talk generally about Nexans and its activities, but more especially about the Nexans Foundation and its partnership with the association SHEKINA.

The Nexans Foundation has so far planned and implemented more than 145 projects in 38 countries around the world.

With the Nexans Foundation, it is 10 years of partnership at the global level, including 5 years of collaboration with Nexans IC, which have enabled the electrification of a total of 14 health centers throughout Ivory Coast for nearly 70,000 recipients.

For the year 2022, the 3 health centers of BOLE, LAGBO TADJOTE and GOVITAN, precisely in TEHINI in the BOUKANI REGION in the North-East of Ivory Coast, have benefited from electrification thanks to the installation of solar panels as part of the "Solar Energy for Better Health in IC" project.

“Valuated at 20,000 €, this project financed by the Nexans Foundation (75%) and the Shekina association (25%), makes us proud just for the smiles it brings to the local population”, according to Mr. Nestor ANTEY, Managing Director of Nexans Ivory Coast.

For the year 2023, 10 health centers are planned to be electrified in the regions of NAWA, BERE, GONTOUGO and BAFING for a total value of 80,000 €.

The Nexans Foundation and its partner, the SHEKINA association, remain very committed to issues related to energy, electrification and the development of rural areas in Ivory Coast with the support of the Ministry of Health, Public Hygiene and Universal Health Coverage.
