5 years that the current goes well between us

This year, Nexans is celebrating 5 years of presence and activities in Côte d'Ivoire, an opportunity to assess its impact on the energy sector.

As the cable industry is at the heart of power networks, Nexans has strengthened the country's electricity production capacities and, in turn, its autonomy in this area, with more than 500,000 km of locally produced cables marketed in Côte d'Ivoire every year.

Nexans is also committed to revitalizing the electricity sector by contributing to the training of young electricians and professionals in the sector (distributors, installers, design offices, etc.) through its Nexans Academy program.

With the support of the UECI (National Union of Electricians of Côte d'Ivoire) and the Chamber of Trades, the Nexans Academy has made it possible to train more than 1,000 electricians and nearly 300 professionals in the electricity sector in 2022, with the aim of doubling these figures in 2023.

On February 28, during a festive event, Nexans received its main partners and customers, including the Compagnie Ivoirienne d'Electricité (CIE), SOGELUX, LBTP and the UECI. The press conference was followed by a tour of the plant.

Nexans is leading the path to electrification in Africa by helping to renew and expand the power grid to provide more secure, reliable and connected access to electricity for the benefit of their citizens and their economies, now and in the long term.
