Safety Day

At Nexans, safety is not just a requirement, it is our number 1 obligation and we are all responsible! Ivory Coast's Safety Day on August 22, 2023, illustrated this commitment by bringing together the entire workforce around a variety of activities.

The event began with an opening speech by Nexans CI HSE Manager Mr. Serge IRIE, underlining our unwavering commitment to safety and the importance of everyone's involvement to ensure a safe working environment. The presentation of the safety results for 2022 and 2023 demonstrated our improvement and identified areas for to enhance the safety of people and property.

Then 15 teams of operators and supervisors presented our 15 safety "Golden Rules" for safety. They were followed by Mr Sylvestre AMOA, Inspector Trainer at APAVE, to raise awareness of the precautions to take during our lifting operations to avoid possible accidents in the workplace.

In addition, to recognise employees' efforts in favour of safety, 03 certificates of recognition were awarded to the three bestfor reporting risky conditions or behaviour on our sites.

The day ended with a cocktail reception, giving participants the opportunity to discuss the issues and strengthen professional ties. A family photo immortalised the event, capturing the sense of unity and commitment to safety.
